Creating picture frames -- simple, ornate, cute, thematic -- can be done using bars/dividers and the online image manipulation sites. These three sites can be used:
ROUNDED FRAMES TABLE BORDER FRAMES RECTANGULAR FRAMES Extra Frame Samples Making 5 Frame Pieces
- Check the picture width and height at one of the sites.
- Choose a bar/divider at one of the free graphics sites that does not require that you make no alterations to the graphic.
- Upload the bar/divider to an image manipulation site to create the four sides of the frame by resizing, rotating, and flipping as needed. Transload each graphic separately to your site.
- You can use a color or transparent background. Find a background and upload it to one of the image manipulation sites where you resize it to act as the base (underside) of the frame. You can then change the color or make it transparent. Transload this graphic to your site.
Examples of the five pieces to be assembled for the main sample are shown below.

BASE* You will use either a colored or a transparent base.
Joining the 5 Pieces into 1 Graphic
- Go to Image Magick at Net4TV.
- Input your base graphic.
- Click on COMPOSITE.
- Using COMPOSITE
- Enter one of your frame edge graphics' URL.
- Ener the coordinates from the upper left corner in the empty box.
- Select Northwest.
- Select an operation (in the main sample OVER was used).
- Click on "composite".
- You will now see your base with one side of the frame.
- Click on COMPOSITE again to add the second side, then the third side, then the fourth side.
- You will now have a frame with four sides on a base.
In the examples below of the frame at this point, it would have been possible to make the top and bottom edges extend to the sides. It is a matter of choices. The transparent based frame shows the page color behind it.
