Uploading Files to FreePages at RootsWeb
The sample FTP sessions shown are based upon this welcome letter indicating that space had been allocated for me in FreePages at RootsWeb. The most important information is the FTP hostname, users.freepages.rootsweb.com, my userid, elsi, and my password, xxYZjobS. (Now don't worry, although the account name is real, that's not my real password. However, it will do for illustration!) When setting up any of the FTP programs or the publish function in a web page editor, these three pieces of information are required.
